Common Snapping Turtle

Size: 8-18" (20-47cm.) (45-75lb.)
Habitat: freshwater, mud bottoms, and brackish water
Coloration: tan, grey, shades of brown

Info:
Snapping turtles are both land, and water reptiles. They're mouth consists of a razor-sharp jaw, that is equipped with an incredibly strong bite-down, that can easily slice off a finger or a toe. Teasing may result in a major injury. While these creatures risk level is high, it does not stop herps (reptile hobbists) from purchasing them at various places and owning them as pets and keeping them at their own risk. While some people like to keep them as pets, some people like to hunt them down, and serve them as delicacies in their restraunts, the meat is cooked, and served, or added to a soup which is appropriatly named "Snapping turtle soup".
